Experience the actions and interactions bringing unity and cohesion to a diverse community. In the following video clips, you can share in the struggles and triumphs that have brought meaning and focus to this new approach to philanthropy.

Class 3 Jane's Fellows reflect on lessons learned on their Learning Exchange trip to San Diego to visit the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, Aug. 12 - 13, 2009. After witnessing the awesome power of resident-driven models of change, they return energized to bring the same to Tacoma and Pierce County.

Share in the story of how community residents took charge of change, partnered with the Jacobs foundations, and transformed a blighted site into a vibrant commercial and cultural center.

Celebrating culture has been a centerpiece of the work to unite San Diego's most culturally diverse community around a common vision for change. Honoring culture through art and entertainment brings Market Creek Plaza alive, brings people together, creates a sense of place, bridges cultures, connects culture and commerce, and shapes a global village.

Market Creek Plaza was partially funded by a $15-million NMTC loan. U. S. Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral chose the Plaza, as a great example of what this program seeks to accomplish, as the site to announce the 2006 round of new tax credits for California organizations. This video tells the Plaza's story and shares highlights from the events of the day.

Market Creek Plaza was planned, designed, built, and leased by the community. This video shares the story of how this significant community asset came to be owned by residents through the ground-breaking CD-IPO.

The Joe & Vi Jacobs Center was named by the community to honor to the couple and their family for their commitment to and belief in the residents of the Diamond Neighborhoods. This video shares a little of the Jacobs' story and the story of the community in which they've focused their work — each "starting with nothing but opportunity."
